From daily frustration to confidence and independence.
Before working with Tracy, my daughter, age 8, was struggling in school and was falling through the cracks. We didn’t have the tools to effectively help her decode words and build those critical skills. She had been relying on memorized sight words and became frustrated with new or multi-syllable words. Reading and writing were a daily struggle, often resulting in tears, and we were at our wits’ end.
From the beginning, Tracy took the time to truly understand where my daughter was at. She identified her actual reading level and created a personalized plan that built strong foundational skills while steadily helping her progress. After each session, my daughter would come home excited to share what she had learned, often with games and activities that reinforced her new skills in a fun and engaging way.
What once caused daily frustration in our home has been completely transformed. Tracy was able to break through not just the academic challenges, but also the emotions and behaviours tied to them. In a matter of months, my daughter went from avoiding reading to becoming a confident, capable reader.
She now enjoys books, asks to go to the library, and is reading at a level close to her peers. Her teacher was amazed by her progress, not only in reading and writing, but also in her independence and overall confidence at school.
We cannot recommend Tracy highly enough for any family with a child struggling in reading and writing. She has truly made a lasting difference in my daughter’s life.
